Crimes like Kandahar bloodshed aim to Shiites’ genocide: AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly

In a statement, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly of the emphasized, “The crime committed in Kandahar indicates that the aim of such crimes is the genocide of Shiites. The crime warns the world of the danger of takfir and extremism, which harms the Islamic society, and tarnish the spiritual and human face of Islam.”

In a statement, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly strongly denounced the ISIL crime in the terrorist attack on the Shiite Friday prayers in southern Afghanistan.

In the statement, while considering the aim of crimes committed, such as the Kandahar crime, for the genocide of Shiites, the Assembly emphasized, “The silence of great centers and figures, as well as some leaders of Islamic countries in the face of these inhuman catastrophes, will question all the foundations of humanitarianism and religious brotherhood.”

Another part of the statement reads, “Despite the Taliban’s promises to confront ISIL, Shiites have so far received no news of a serious and positive action by the Taliban to confront and prosecute the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Kunduz.”

The statement of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from Thee one who will protect; and raise for us from Thee one who will help!”” (Quran, Surah: An-Nisa, Verse: 75)

ISIL terrorist and brutal attack on worshipers of Fatemieh Mosque in Kandahar city in the brotherly country of Afghanistan, which martyred and injured nearly 130 Shiites, caused great sorrow and grief to Shiites, AhlulBayt (a.s.) lovers, and altruistic people of the world.

The attack, which took place after the last week's terrorist attack in Kunduz, will definitely make the Shiites think about the sinister plan of the enemies, the pondering of the Sunni brothers, and the awareness of the conscience of the truth-seeking people.

The crime committed in Kandahar indicates that the aim of such crimes is the genocide of Shiites. The crime warns the world of the danger of takfir and extremism, which harms the Islamic society and tarnish the spiritual and human face of Islam, and it reminds the world that Islam and the oppressed Shiites of Afghanistan must be helped. The people of the world are aware that it was the Shiites who were attacked by terrorists, and they were never the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks.

The silence of great centers and figures, as well as some leaders of Islamic countries in the face of these inhuman catastrophes, will question all the foundations of humanitarianism and religious brotherhood. Therefore, all human beings who oppose oppression and terrorism are expected to take a stand against the terrorist incident in Kandahar.

The international community, especially Afghanistan’s neighbors, should not allow the country to become a place for ISIL to operate and expand.

Despite the Taliban’s promises to confront ISIL, Shiites have so far received no news of a serious and positive action by the Taliban to confront and prosecute the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Kunduz.

Recent events have shown that the country’s security forces are incapable of curbing terrorist attacks. Therefore, it is necessary to ask for help from the people, especially those in charge of holding these ceremonies. The experience of cooperation and joint measures of the security forces and the board of trustees of the mosques and Tekias (Tekie a place for worshipping) has been a successful experience in securing these centers, and it is necessary to use that experience.

While strongly denouncing this terrorist attack, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in its turn will work to alleviate the suffering of the victims and to defend the rights of the Shiites. The Assembly also offers its condolences to the families of the martyrs and the people of Afghanistan and asks God to grant patience to them, and grant heaven and divine forgiveness for the martyrs, and immediate healing for the wounded.
