“Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him do we indeed return” (Holy Quran 2:156)

The demise of pious, serving, and sincere scholar, Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Rudbari (r.a.), the scientific, religious, and spiritual pillar of the Gilan, caused great impression and regret.

The divine scholar who was a lover and seeker of knowledge and ethics, was trained in the classes of the figures of the world of science, jurisprudence and politics, such as Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Khoei, Ayatollah Borujerdi, Ayatollah Hakim, Ayatollah Mirza Hashem Amoli, Allameh Tabatabai, and became an outstanding teacher himself and trained many students.

Throughout the Revolution, that Gilani Mujtahed was always a supporter and servant of Islam, the Revolution, and the companion of the Imam and the leadership.

He considered Imam Khomeini to have a pure soul, and a perfect model of struggle.

He was the Marja and sympathizer of the faithful people, the refuge of the helpless, and the religious trustee of the people of Gilan province, and for nearly 100 years people participated in the mourning ceremonies for AhlulBayt (a.s.) in his house.

His diligence in praying for the martyrs, and attending ceremonies related to the martyrs, were one of his common beliefs and methods that he did as much as he could.

His grief and tears at the AhlulBayt (a.s.) ceremonies were a sign of his special and pure devotion to the Velayat, which had made him popular with the people.

By his behavior, that respected scholar reflected the morality of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), in a way that scholars and clergies can follow his exemplary politeness.

He was concerned with reviving the province’s religious spheres and spared no effort to reform them.

These lasting and valuable services are enough to consider his place next to his pure ancestors. God willing!

I consider this loss irreparable for the spiritual body of the province and I offer my condolences to Imam Mahdi (a.s.), as well as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Marjas, the seminaries of Qom and Najaf, his students, enthusiasts, brothers, and children, especially his son, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Saleh Rudbari, and his esteemed family. I ask God Almighty for the deceased to have high degrees, divine pleasure and reunion with his pure ancestors, and patience for his family.
