Hojat al-Islam Mokhtari appointed as Iran’s Ambassador to the Vatican

Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mohammad Hussain Mokhtari was appointed as the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican.

Before this position, he was the representative of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Board of Trustees of AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University. He was also the head of the Urwa al-Wuthgha International Research Institute.

Among Dr. Mokhtari’s scientific and executive careers were teaching at the higher levels of Qom Seminary, Ph.D. of philosophy from Durham University, imam and president of the Newcastle Islamic Center, teaching Kharij Fiqh in English, president of the University of Islamic Denominations, associate professor at the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute, and Head of the Research Institute of Studies on Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

Before Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mokhtari, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Taha Hashemi was the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Vatican.

While wishing success to Dr. Mokhtari, the AhlulBayt International News Agency - ABNA - emphasizes the necessity of deepening media interactions between Shiism and Catholicism during his career period, and declares its readiness to cooperate in this regard.
