In response to the ISIS suicide attack in northern Afghanistan, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “We consider this heinous incident to be an organized act to divert public opinion from the Zionists’ crimes in Gaza, and an attempt to create discord in the Islamic society, especially in Afghanistan, and incite Muslim sentiments.”

In this statement, he called on the ruling government of Afghanistan to protect the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school in the country and to target the criminal terrorists.

The statement is as follows:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“They were vindictive towards them only because they had faith in Allah, the All-mighty and the All-laudable” (Holy Quran, Surah: Al-Burooj, Verse: 8)

In the same times of the support of the human society, free people, and Muslims of the world, with all ethnic and religious tendencies, of the courageous Palestinian Resistance against the arrogant Zionist regime, some Takfiri terrorists, guided by Zionism, launched a terrorist suicide attack against the Friday prayer congregation in Baghlan province in northern Afghanistan, which resulted in 50 martyrs and a number of wounded.

While strongly denouncing this attack, which targeted the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school, we reiterate our request to the Afghan government to take decisive security measures to prevent these heinous crimes. We also call on the ruling government of Afghanistan to provide the necessary protection for the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school, pursue the perpetrators of these crimes, arrest them, put them on trial, and target the centers of criminal terrorists, and protect mosques and worshipers against the attacks of these extremist terrorist groups. We consider this heinous incident to be an organized act to divert public opinion from the Zionists’ crimes in Gaza, and an attempt to create discord in the Islamic society, especially in Afghanistan, and incite Muslim sentiments.”

We pray the Almighty God grants mercy and grace to the martyrs of this criminal act, speedy healing to the injured, and patience to their relatives because He is the best listener and responder.

Mohammad Hassan Akhtari
