Imam Musa Sadr’s concern, presence of Islam in society: Ayatollah Ramazani

Following the meeting with various Lebanese figures, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly met Mrs. Robab Sadr, the sister of late Imam Musa Sadr.

In this meeting, while considering the publication of the scientific activities of Imam Musa Sadr as commendable and usable, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani said, “I recommend that all colleagues and friends listen to the speeches of Imam Musa Sadr. Today in Lebanon, we are witnessing the fruits of his propagation activities. We should acknowledge that, like the martyrs of the Resistance, sacrifices are needed for great deeds.”

“At a European scientific conference, a Western thinker said, “In the culture of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and Shiism, there are two truths that keep the pursuit of justice and jihad strong: first, Imam Hussein ibn Ali (a.s.) who introduces the model of martyrdom, and second, the Mahdi (a.s.) the savior, who gives hope to the Shiites. God willing, Imam Musa Sadr will be considered among the companions of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), and we pray for him,” he continued.

Mrs. Robab Sadr continued, “The loss of Imam Musa Sadr is really felt. After 43 years, every day and every moment, his words and speeches still resonate in my ears.”

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Ayatollah Shobeiri has a special devotion to Shahid Beheshti and Imam Musa Sadr. The friendship and closeness between Imam Musa Sadr and Ayatollah Beheshti made these two figures always be in the hearts of their lovers and companions.”

In confirmation of Ayatollah Ramazani’s words, Ms. Robab Sadr said, “The two nobles were close friends. Even when Imam Musa Sadr came to Lebanon, Ayatollah Beheshti came too. They had a lot in common intellectually and practically.”

In response to Ms. Robab Sadr’s request, “Please give some advice about this time full of dangers and problems, where despair overwhelms people day by day,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, “We must strengthen our understanding of Islam. Islam has different dimensions. The late martyr Motahhari was one of the great figures of the Islamic seminary. Imam Khomeini said about him, “The foundations of the revolution and Islam were presented by Martyr Motahhari.” He had a comprehensive understanding of Islam. Martyr Motahhari was opposed to liberal Islam and agreed with compassionate Islam, and the path to salvation is in this thought.”

“Imam Musa Sadr was a man of dialogue and approximation. He was a supporter of Islam and went to churches to rid Islam of slander. Our commitment must be greater than the others. There are prominent and strong Quran scholars in the West, but there is no commitment to the Quran. Imam Musa Sadr’s concern was to introduce Islam in society and not to keep it in the closets,” he added.

“The West wants to trample on the dignity of Islam. Therefore, we must preserve the dignity of Islam and bring it into society. Faith is gained through Maarefat (divine knowledge). We must ask God for success and sincerity, and hope in Him. The late Allameh Hassanzadeh said, “God is the Lord of the Great Aarsh (Throne) and the Great Aarsh is the heart of the believer”,” he emphasized.

Mrs. Rabab Sadr further stated, “One of the scholars said that there are certain similarities between Allameh Helli and Imam Musa Sadr. I wanted to know about Allameh Helli. Does he have books in Persian, and are his books taught in seminaries?”

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly replied, “The book “Sharae’ al-Islam Fi Masael al-Halal wa al- Haram” is written by Allameh Helli. In “Kalam” (Theology) Allameh Helli was a student of Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi, and Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi was a student of Allameh Helli in “Fiqh” (Jurisprudence). These two were students and teachers of each other, and they were called “Pioneer Jurists”. The jurisprudential view begins from the time of Allameh Helli. Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Najafi, known as the Saheb Jawaher (the owner or writer of the book Jawaher al-Kalam), wrote a 43-volume commentary on Jawaher al-Kalam in the commentary on the book “Sharae’ al-Islam Fi Masael al-Halal wa al- Haram” by Allama Helli. Today, courses of the Kharij (higher level teachings of the Islamic seminary) cannot proceed without the Jawaher al-Kalam commentary. Therefore, our discussions in the Kharij (higher level teachings of the Islamic seminary) are taught from the commentary of the Jawaher al-Kalam which is taken from the “Sharae’ al-Islam Fi Masael al-Halal wa al- Haram” by Allama Helli. The book “Hadi Ashar” is a theological book with the description of Fazel Miqdad by Allameh Helli, the Persian translation of which is also available.”

“Allameh Helli revolutionized jurisprudence and theology, and Imam Musa al-Sadr revolutionized the introduction of Islam and the dialogue of religions. Perhaps for this reason, Imam Musa Sadr has been compared to Allameh Helli,” Ayatollah Ramazani concluded.
